Calistoga Elementary School

On Thursday, March 9th, the Napa County Read’s program was hosted by Calistoga Junior/Senior High School. Held annually for the past 20 years and including all Napa County Schools, this is the first time the event has been hosted at one of our schools and Superintendent Pittman promised to the students that this would certainly not be the last. Howell Mountain and Pope Elementary also sent students to participate in the event.

Have you heard about the super cool book vending machine at CES? The machine was purchased and stocked with donations from the Calistoga Rotary Foundation, Soroptimist International of Calistoga, and the Calistoga Education Foundation.

On Wednesday, October 6th, hundreds of students across Napa County walked, biked, and rolled to school in celebration of Walk & Roll to School Day.

At the beginning of each school year, CES staff promotes playground games while also teaching students safety rules during the annual Rules Rodeo!

The first week of June was Spirit Week at CES, and students really brought their A game! With themes like Crazy Hair day and Character day, these wildcats (and many teachers, too!) took the week very seriously.

This year's second distribution of Soroptimist book gifts for all CES students has been accomplished. Despite the COVID shut down for in-person classes, dedicated volunteer community Read Aloud Partners (RAPPers) have read to classes via Zoom and new colorful, engaging books went home with students just before spring break.

February 22 was the first day of a very exciting week for Calistoga Elementary School - students returned to campus for regular instruction for the first time in almost a year! Our staff did an exceptional job of welcoming them back, keeping them safe, and of course having fun while learning.

Calistoga Elementary School staff teamed up with the Calistoga Fire Department to collect toys for kids in the community in this time of giving.

Sixth grade students enjoyed their annual outdoor education field trip to Yosemite National Park the week of October 14-18.

Monday, March 4 was a school-wide celebration of Read Across America day where students could wear pajamas to school. Read Across America encourages schools to bring in community volunteers who love to read and to share that pleasure with the students.

First graders in Mr. Gudenius' class has been participating in a variety of STEM activities to introduce students to science, technology, and computer programming.

Calistoga Elementary School is participating in Copperfield's Books' Money for Schools Fundraiser! All you have to do is visit Copperfield's Books during the weekend of November 2-4, mention Calistoga Elementary School at the register, and they'll donate 20% of your purchase to our school.
